Hey,

I'm Taylor!

As a visual storyteller based in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, I love traveling around the Midwest documenting the stories of the amazing people I have the opportunity to create photos + films with. I am inspired by exploring moment and nostalgia through a blend of documentary and fine art photography. Studying under Kirsten Lewis, I received an invaluable education experience, learning from photographers from publications like The New York Times and National Geographic. Born and raised in the Upper Peninsula, I am passionate about working with my community to document stories that evoke nostalgia and memory, and I believe that

what we choose to photograph is a reflection of the things we value most.

Past experiences and perspectives have helped shape the images you see here. Being a mom, I’ve seen how quickly life flows from one season to the next, and how my kid’s firsts have quickly faded to their lasts. The older I get, the more I realize that

life is about the quality of attention given.

I never want to forget little moments that may have otherwise been forgotten; details like Jett and Charlie's belly laughs, fishing with my Dad, or the way my mother smiles when she tells a joke.

All the impermanence of life makes me want to hold on just a bit longer, and I am so grateful to have images that take me back. For me, photography is a way of telling a story in a series of images;

the tangible evidence of a life well lived.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR YOU?

My focus is to capture authentic moments, one’s that show true personality, deep connection, and all the emotions that transport you back to the moment the photo was taken. My approach is to infuse fine art photography with photojournalism, but ultimately,

I WANT TO CAPTURE WHAT THE MOMENT FEELS LIKE.

Behind the Scenes...

I made my photography business official in June 2016, and it has been a joy on this path watching life take form and witnessing the unfolding of it all, with presence and a camera. I am the mother of two free-spirited boys, Jett and Charlie, and our sweet pup, Nora.

As a lifelong learner, I am currently studying filmmaking while working on projects with the team at Mountain Media House, and love spending time with the crew on the set of Northbound.

When I'm not behind the lens, I love throwing pottery, playing guitar, being a self proclaimed neuro-nerd + avid list maker, exploring the U.P., and getting wrapped up in a good book (or anything by Kurt Vonnegut, really).
